The imaginative duo
Our Story
Swimasaurus is inspired by my own background in the swim industry and my mother’s (co-author) two decades of experience in working with children.
My swimming journey began at just three years old. Believe it or not, I was a nervous child and showing a real apprehension towards the water. My mum, who is aquaphobic, knew first hand how vulnerable she felt whenever by the water and didn’t want me growing up missing out on things she did. So she made it her mission to get me safe and swimming. It was there that everything changed, thanks to an incredible swim teacher who turned my fears into fascination!
Swimming quickly became the centre of my childhood to my early 20s—weekends at galas, training five to six times a week with my amazing teammates. At age 12, I placed fourth nationally in the 10,000m Swimathon challenge, and I transferred my skills and fitness to compete nationally in triathlons as a youth and in my adulthood, running two London marathons.
Fast forward to starting a family and retraining as a preschool swimming teacher, I found a new calling—helping children conquer their fears of water, just like I once did. This journey has allowed me to combine my personal experiences with my teaching skills to build lesson plans that are imaginative, fun, and goal-driven.
I’m passionate about using imaginative play and creative methods to make swimming lessons exciting and accessible for children. Seeing their confidence bloom in the water is something I think as swim teachers we all share and what makes our career so rewarding.
I’m thrilled to share this next chapter with you—bringing Swimasaurus to life to inspire a love of swimming in future generations!
